My name is Carolyne and I co-own a company with my mother. Deals with the supply of fuel ⛽.
I vividly recall mid (2015) how ecstatic we were once we got a LPO to supply Spectre International Limited. Obviously it was like God had just answered our prayers. Little did we know what would befall us after.
We eventually gathered all our eggs in one basket obliviously and did the supply one truck after the other. Terms of payment was after 30days, of which they fulfilled fully at first(paid half the money). Until they started coming up with excuses later on.
My mother is a Brain Tumor Warrior and since then she stopped taking her medication(low funds). Lifestyle obviously changes, business isn't as booming due to constrained capital, I can't do my Masters and I'm just fed up to say the list.
Long story short: it's now headed to 2018 and they still owe us Ksh14M.
Courts are busy handling petition cases and with the unsafety in Kisumu during and after elections it was hard for our lawyers to file the case. Needless to say that there is a shortage of judges in Kisumu hence making cases last 10× longer before the hearing.
The fact that other colleagues(same industry) also have their complains regarding the same issue, it is clear that Spectre International Limited operates of other people's money. #WhataShame
I'm not here for a pity party, I just need JUSTICE. Why is it that institutions in Kenya find it so easy to violate the terms of contract (payments)??? To the voices larger than mine keep the story trendy. I concur with His Excellency our Deputy President Raila Odinga is truly the #lordofPoverty #HELP #CryforJustice
