Keep your inner space clear.
Everyday you make decisions that bring you closer or further from your goals and priorities. In sobriety you also make steps towards or away from the first drink/use. I am vata dosha and the more I learn and read on ayurveda..when vata doesnt have a routine thats consistent it can become out of balance. That is spot on for me. I thrive on a steady routine, it can deviate of course. But if I can keep myself close to a schedule day in and out I do really well. That is also why Ashtanga works for me. I know what I'm getting (posture wise...emotionally that reveals itself in the moment) so I choose to do the things that set myself up for making steps in the direction of my personal goals (on and off the mat) and when I stay with a routine, my practice and my daily self care like journal, prayer/meditation, meetings, hang time with my family, good coffee, hot teas, warm foods, etc...I am making a conscious decision away from that first drink.
What do you do to keep your inner space clear?
