Nope, I'm not 'shredded' or 'buffed' or anything like that. Probably closer to being 'skinny fat'. Yet I'm faster, stronger and more agile than the majority of you, so go and **** urself.
In any case, #throwbacktuesday to last august. I'm not about aesthetics (NOT a bodybuilder after all), but realize their value. People WILL judge/estimate your capabilities as an athlete based on your aesthetics.
As Ido Portal says: 'training for aesthetics that hint of certain physical capacities instead of training for those capacities have become common practice in our culture'. IMO, aesthetics should be the last in the list of priorities. They should come along as a result of the training you do where you focus on performance, functionality and health.
You could - and probably should - be a world class athlete without bodybuilding aesthetics.
Nevertheless, it's nice to have them. Not that I do. But negative body image is a whole other discussion.
Obviously, take my words with a grain of salt since aesthetics are not my strongest point and I'm more than likely to be biased.
