Repeat this for two sets of 10 on each side with a two second pause at the top. What you are looking for is any type of increased stretching, tightness, or neural symptoms on the affected side. In the video, my left leg is the involved side and you notice it is not rising up as far. The goal is to have the injured side and the uninvolved side have the same level of knee extension. To evolve you must do things that make you uncomfortable. Staying comfortable will only take you to an average state. Hack Squats are no joke and they strain your energy like crazy. There's not a lot of weight loaded but you best believe 15+ reps were performed on each set except this last one I think I did about 10 cuz my legs were fried. Idk about you but my legs have responded to higher reps then lower reps so my leg days are brutal because the lactic acid just pours all into the quads and hamstrings, filling them with a lot of blood and hitting those slow and fast twitch fibers. This patient is having knee pain for quite some time, been working on the Quadriceps, ITB, Hamstring but the pain doesn't seem to go away whenever doing the knee bending. After working on the popliteus, by myofascial release and joint mobilization. The result was immediate, the patient able to bend the knee without feeling pain after the session. Popliteus is a small, deeply located muscle at the back of the knee. The function is to flex the knee and internal rotate the knee, which is an important function for unlocking the extended knee. However, since the patient's knee is internal rotated, we external rotated the tibia bone. This is to realign the biomechanic of the knee. The popliteus unlocks the knee when it is in full extension in order to initiate knee flexion; and it is a knee stabilizer (laterally rotating the femur on the tibia when the knee is extended, and medially rotating the tibia on the femur when the knee is flexed). It can become injured with overuse (running) and in sports where there may be quick twisting-like movement at the knee (soccer, basketball, tennis). 🌟To massage: place a small ball (I use a @yogatuneup therapy massage ball) behind the knee, between the calf and hamstrings. Apply pressure by drawing the lower leg in. Rotate the lower leg side to side. Flex and point the foot.
